  • Bhubaneswar/Sambalpur: A Day after leader of opposition Jaynarayan Mishra and a woman inspector of police in Sambalpur got embroiled in a public spat, BJD and BJP sharpened attacked on each other.
  • The Bjiu Mahila Janata Dal, women's wing of the BJD, staged protest in Bhubaneswar and Sambalpur demanding Jaynarayan's removal as leader of opposition. The BJP staged demonstration near the Raj Bhawan against "worsening" law and order situation where party leaders condemned the police behavior meted out to the leader of opposition.
  • Union education minister Dharmendra Pradhan, who was in Bhubaneswar to attend a government pro- gramme, accused the BJD of trying to divert attention from the unsolved crime of the murder of minister Naba Das.
  • Responding to BJD's demand for Jaynarayan's resignation as leader of opposition, Dharmendra said "Jayanarayan had not occu- pied the position on anybotuency day's mercy. His selection as BJP's legislature party lea- der has been approved by party's Parliamentary Board".
  • Participating in a BJD protest in former Sambalpur MLA and BJD leader Rageswari Panigrahi said the entire state is shocked by the behavior of Jayaranayan, who is representing the prestigious Sambalpur constituency.
  • Jaynarayan said he was being attacked because he has been raising the conspiracy issue behind the murder of Naba Das.
