Six New Governors Appointed
- New Delhi: Senior BJP leader and Maharashtra governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari, who had recently expressed willingness to resign, finally put in his papers on Sunday in a major reshuffle of the gubernatorial pack which includes appointment of retired Supreme Court judge S Abdul Nazeer as governor of Andhra Pradesh. Justice Nazeer was part of the five-judge bench which in 2019 unanimously decided to give the contentious Ayodhya site for the construction of Ram Mandir.

- Nazeer is the second SC justice to have been appointed governor by the BJP government. Earlier, former Chief Justice Sathasivams appointed governor of Kerala. Former CJI, Ranjan Gogoi, who headed the bench that gave the Ayodhya verist was nominated to Rajya Sabha post-superannuation.
- Another significant appointment was of Brahmin face from Gorakhpur region in Uttar Pradesh Shiv Prasad Shukla as governor of Himachal Pradesh and BJP leader from Rajasthan, Gulab Chand Kataria, being assigned the Raj Bhawan responsibility in Assam.
