Murmu Walks to Lingaraj Temple in City
- Bhubaneswar: President Draupadi Murmu on Saturday broke protocol to meet and speak to children stan- ding along the road from Bin- du Sagar to Lingaraj Temple here to greet her.
- Wearing a smile, the President received flowers and took selfies with the children. A large number of people thronged Old Town for a glimpse of 'Odisha's daughter'. Murmu had also ignored protocol and walked along the Grand Road leading to the Jagannath Temple in Puri during her first visit to the state after becoming President, in November last year.
- On Saturday, instead of going to Debi Papahara tank to wash her feet before entering the Lingaraj Temple, Murmu went to Bindu Sagar tank, about 200 meters from the shrine. "It was not planned that she will come to Bin-du Sagar, so we were standing on the rooftop to see her When we saw she was pas- sing in front of our house, we rushed down for a closer lo- ok," said Kabya, a seven-year-old girl.
