Vocational HS schools to create student database for placements
- Bhubaneswar. All vocational higher secondary schools in the state will create a data base of students, which will help in placements and future course of action. To create awareness about vocational courses and to attract more students to such courses, the higher secondary schools will also conduct awareness-cum- admission drives before the coming academic session. This was decided at a two-day capacity building programmed for principals of government vocational higher secondary schools that concluded here on Wednesday.
- "The enrolment ratio is 65% in the vocational higher secondary schools of the stet. We want to improve it fort her as well as create aware ness about the benefits of vocational courses among the students and parents. The principals have been asked to remain in touch with high schools in their localities," Raghuram Iyer, director of vocational higher secondary schools, said.
- There are a total 30 vocational higher secondary schools in the state offering courses in 19 trades.
- Addressing the principal's school & mass education minister Samir Ranjan Dash as ked them to review their salts and prepare a roadmap for the next academic session. "There is no shortage of funds as these schools can enhance the facilities and ensure quality education using funds from Samarasimha and Stars." Dash said. Discussions were also held on scholarships, placements, infrastructure, Mo School Abhiyan transformation of schooled and other issues.
