World slowing, but India on path of speed & scale: PM

- Lucknow: The world may be on the cusp of a crisis, but India will continue to grow because of the ever-rising confidence and aspirations of its youth, PM Narendra Modi said Friday, alluding to the ravages of the prolonged war and the IMF forecasting an economic downturn in 2023-24.
- "India has and will continue to emerge as the fastest growing economy...India is treading a path of speed and scale," he said at the inaugural session of the three-day Global Investors Summit (GIS) in Lucknow.
- Modi said the NDA government had managed to fulfil the aspirations of a large social class "thinking ahead" and "one level up".
- Patting CM Yogi Aditya- Nath's UP for going from being one of the "Bimaru" states to the engine of the country's growth, the PM said, "If India is attaining the status of a bright spot for the entire world, then UP is providing the much- needed energy and driving its growth."
- Union home minister Amit Shah invoked a law of physics to highlight how BJP-governed UP had attained "momentum" in all respects because it had "both mass and velocity".
