As Covid cases climb to 902. Naveen asks officials to monitor virus spread

  • Bhubaneswar: Odisha recorded 212 fresh cases in the last 24 hours taking the total number of cases to 902 on Wednesday.
  • With a large number of people down with viral fever and flu-like symptoms, doctors advised people to go for Covid tests.
  • Chief minister Naveen Patnaik on Wednesday took stock of the Covid-19 situation in the state and advised day officials to monitor the situation closely.
  • Health officials said the Covid situation in Odisha is under control and the state has increased the number of tests in the last few days. The 212 positive cases were detected from 6,387 tests conducted in the last 24 hours.
  • The state had recorded 141 Covid cases on Tuesday and 104 cases on Monday. Mean- while, 41 Covid patients recovered in the state on Wednesday
  • Covid tests will help track the virus and if there is a surge in cases, then also the variants. But the symptoms in Covid-infected people are  mild and there is hardly any hospitalization or death," said Dr Niroj Mishra, a senior physician
  • Health officials said all arrangements have been put in place to conduct rapid anti- gen tests at healthcare facilities starting from community health clinics and if necessary, blood samples would be sent for RTPCR tests. Besides mock drills were conducted in different health care facilities to check Covid prepared ness
